The 42nd Annual Michigan Small Bus Roadeo
The Roadeo took place on June 11th in combination with the National Roadeo in Detroit, MI. Competitors tested their skills and knowledge through a written test, navigated a obstacle course, assisted a passenger using a wheelchair, and conducted vehicle safety inspection. The Roadeo reinforces safe driving habits and professionalism behind the wheel while ensuring passenger safety.
TAT had three employees participate: Wayne Kinney, Chris Ruth, and Doug Ross. All TAT participates did an outstanding job placing in the top 40 in the National competition and top 20 in the State competition. Doug Ross placed 3rd in the State competition earning a spot to compete in the 2018 National Roadeo.

Employees braved the cold to help prevent child abuse and neglect by bringing awareness and collecting donations for the organization.

The Roadeo reinforces safe driving habits and professionalism behind the wheel while ensuring passenger safety. TAT had five employees participate: Shawn Chambers, Wayne Kinney, Chris Ruth, Doug Ross, and Randy Wierzbicki. All participates did an outstanding job placing in the top 20. TAT is proud to also have our drivers win 2nd place in the team competition!!

MASSTrans Frontline Conference
TAT employees attended training sessions on various topics such as: defensive driving, CPR/first aid, bus evacuations, wheelchair securement, and customer service skills. This gives employees training in the most important areas for transit employees.

Northern Michigan Bus Roadeo
TAT had two employees, Mark Brown and
Chris Ruth, participant in the Northern Michigan Bus Roadeo where drivers test their skills through various driving challenges. Mark Brown came in 3rd place and Chris Ruth placed 5th. They were also the top two Rookie drivers!
Huron County Senior Fair 2015
TAT participated in the Senior Fair on June 12th providing rides to and from the event. Along with passing out orange tote bags and many other goodies, seniors were able to learn more about Thumb Area Transit’s service.
